Run out of ideas for what to feed your kids this summer? It can be hard to steer away from unhealthy, sugary snacks and ice cream in the summer holidays and, although these are tasty, it’s a good idea to have some healthy snacks in your repertoire to help sneak in their five-a-day. Luckily Munchy Seeds are here to help! Shake up your summer holidays with these fun, healthy snacks to make with your kids – and they’re so yummy, you’ll enjoy them too.
Fruity ice lollies: These are so easy to make and are a great alternative for sugary ice creams. All you need are some lolly molds, which are available from most supermarkets or from Amazon, and some creativity… From classic frozen orange juice ice lollies to summer berry yoghurt ice pops, let your imagination run wild. Simply prep your fruit and veg, blitz in a food processor and pour into the lolly molds. Freeze overnight and enjoy an icy treat the next day!
Super seeded flapjacks: Flapjacks are a great thing to make with your kids as they’re easy, tasty and nutritious. Why not add a handful of Munchy Seeds to your favourite flapjack recipe for an extra crunchy, yummy treat? We love adding our Honey Seed Sprinkles for a little something sweeter!
Easy peasy pitta pizzas: These are a great snack or tea-time option – DIY pizzas always go down a treat. For an easy, healthy pizza, simply load tomato sauce, toppings of your choice and a sprinkle of cheese onto a wholemeal pitta and grill until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Delicious! Not got pitta? You can do the same thing with tortilla wraps.
Make-your-own yoghurt and granola pots: These make a great on-the-go breakfast or mid-morning snack. Just fill a small jar (an old jam jar works well) with yoghurt, chopped fruit and granola. Add some Munchy Seeds and other toppings such as honey or nut butter and you’re good to go!
