Super Berry Seed Bircher Muesli

We’re addicted to making overnight oats, or Bircher muesli, at the moment.
Did you know that (according to Wikipedia) Bircher muesli was first developed around 1900 by Swiss physician Maximilian Bircher-Benner for patients in his hospital, where a diet rich in fresh fruit and vegetables was an essential part of his therapy. It was inspired by a similar “strange dish” that he and his wife had been served on a hike in the Swiss Alps. Well …. thank you Mr Bircher Benner!
We hope you’ll enjoy our version of this convenient, healthy breakfast and feel all the better for it too.

Serves 2.

Ingredients:

85g cup rolled oats
50g of our Super Berry Breakfast Booster
1/2
 tsp ground cinnamon
320
ml of whole milk
4 tbsp Greek style yogurt – we love Tims Dairy
1 handful of frozen mixed berries
1 spoonful granola of choice as an optional topping

Method:

Combine the oats, Super Berry seeds, cinnamon, milk and yogurt in a bowl. Top with frozen berries, then cover and refrigerate overnight. When you get up in the morning simply sprinkle on some crunchy granola and enjoy.

If you like a bit more sweetness, drizzle with honey or maple syrup. Your day will be all the brighter for it.

Delicious alternative:

This is also great using one of our other Breakfast Boosters – Totally Tropical or Cacao & Apricot.
